Spring Into Your Destiny
For I know the plans and thoughts I have for you; says the Lord. Plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
I was having a great conversation with a client as we were discussing the next steps she would take as it pertained to both her business and personal goals. She gave me a list of things she was determined to accomplish. Purchasing a new home, new car, traveling overseas and purchasing property there. There was a man she met and she knew he was the "one". We spent about 25-mins discussing her goals, dreams and created an action plan to accomplish every single one of them. Before ending our conversation I mentioned to her that all of these are great goals to have and I believe you will make them happen. I want to encourage this; before attacking your to-do-list- spend a few moments asking God if that's what he wants of you in this season. Before making any decision, speak with God and make sure that it is God's timing and not yours.
A few weeks went by and we had another visit. It wasn't as cheerful because she attacked her to-do-list without spending time with God. With tears in her eyes she uttered, "my goals aren't going as expected. I should've had a conversation with God first because things are falling a part." A lot of our plans haven't come to fruition because those weren't the plans God ordained for our lives. Or it wasn't God's timing for us. What tends to happen when we aren't obedient to God is we get in a habit of praying to God to fix what God hadn't ordained in the first place.
I told you that story because as we get older, our definition of success changes. I've come to the realization that for me, SUCCESS IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD. Which is my DESTINY. Overcoming fear with faith will allow you to use your gifts and talents to Serve and fulfill the purpose that God has ordained for YOU to fulfill.
Pray this Prayer: God I love you and thank you for everything you've done for me and through me. God, I don't want to do life without you and nothing else matters but being obedient to you. Less of me and more of you. I love you.

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also the interests of others.
Serve Where You Are
If you get a chance to meet one of these 5 men consider it a true blessing. Who are they? I'm glad you asked. Meet Paul, Patt, David, Dante and Deante. One of their favorite questions to ask is, "Do you need anything?" A simple question but they are prepared to handle the weight that may come with the answer. I think it's because at the heart of these men... is service. If you are in their community, they simply want to make sure no problem goes unsolved especially if they have the ability to help.
Can you drop your pride and selfish nature to be the answer to someone else's problem?
I know many of us equate service to volunteering at a local shelter, giving food to the homeless or volunteering with a local non-profit. Don't get me wrong, all of these are amazing ways to serve. But service also includes using your gifts and talents to help someone else's vision come to life. For example, if you are a photographer can you help your friend who's starting a business with a marketing campaign? If you are great at organizing, can you help your boss create a better organizing system in the office? The key here is, you may not get the credit and it shouldn't matter. Because God didn't give you your gifts for you. He gave them to you, so that you can help others.
If I am honest, one of the biggest lessons I've had to learned was this, IT IS NOT ABOUT ME IT IS ABOUT WHAT GOD WANTS ME TO DO! In return, I started asking this question everyday, "God, how can I make you smile?".
Our destiny is interwoven in service. If you are looking for your purpose, if you are searching to find what God requires of you, look inward for what has been a burden on your heart and find a way to be the answer. God created us with a unique set of gifts and talents that are designed just for us. In other words, NO ONE CAN DO... WHAT YOU DO... HOW YOU DO IT... Use your gifts and talents to be the answer!
Pray this prayer: God, thank you for the gifts and talents you have given me. I want to use them to make you smile. Not for my glory but for your glory. God, help me be more aware of your presence so that I can experience the fullness of your unconditional love and be able to give that love to everyone I meet. I love you!

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
I was watching this video of this little boy being asked to jump in the pool into his dad's arms. His little legs were trembling, his arms were shaking and tears were flowing from his eyes. His father continued to say, "it's okay you can jump, I'm right here. Look at me. Don't look at the water don't look at the people swimming and playing in the water, keep your eyes on me".
Have you ever felt as if God was asking you to move but fear had you feeling stuck? Yeah, I've felt that way many times. Fear will have you focusing on your past instead of your present and your future. Fear will have you focusing on the mistakes you made instead of the promises God made you. Fear will cause you to focus on your weaknesses instead of acknowledging and operating in your strength.
How do we overcome fear? That's a great question.
First, turn your attention to God. Spend some quality time listening and talking to God. Block out the noise, the distractions and take time to hear from God. Next, take inventory of your life and think about what God has already done in your life. Think about the blessings you have been given and the struggles you faced but came out stronger and victorious. Lastly, connect with someone who can be your support system. Someone who can pray with and for you. I've said it before and I'll say it again, never under estimate the transformative power of community.
Is God asking you to JUMP? What is God requiring of you in this season? Whatever it is, remember that you will never know how great you can be until you allow God to push you past your comfort zone. Whenever you decide to jump, just like the father waiting on his son to jump in the pool with his arms opened wide, God will be waiting for you. With His arms opened wide, God is right there ready to catch you, to guide you because God is ALWAYS with you.
Pray this prayer: God I thank you for your love and I will trust you even when I am scared and afraid. I will trust that you will catch me when I fall and guide me every step of the way. I want to operate in more faith and less fear. Thank you for all that you have done and what you are about to do in my life. I love you. Amen
